I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin cake, pumpkin bread, etc. I don't love carving pumpkins! I don't like the mess. I don't like the cost. I don't like the smell of them as they rot on my front porch!
On the other hand, David likes to carve pumpkins. He really enjoys cutting out those really intricate patterns. Each year, he and the children pick out some designs and begin the carving. I take pictures.
This year, David's work kept him so busy there was only time to eat and fall into bed at night. That left the pumpkin carving to me. Friday night, 7 pm, I cut the top off the pumpkins and set them on garbage sacks on the floor. The kids were thrilled. They scooped out the insides, designed the faces, carved them and then cleaned up the mess. I took pictures.
My kids are finally old enough to carve their own pumpkins. Whooppeeee! I didn't have to do a thing!
P.S. I did the girls hair to look like cat ears. I thought they turned out pretty cute!
