Summer Swimming

The temperature is finally hot enough for pleasant swimming. Actually, the water is now rather warm! Here are a few swimming pictures from the first swim, where the water was 68 degrees and where I was still in my clothes, not in the water! I don't mind a little chilly, but I am opposed to freezing in water just for "fun".

Sycamore Soccer

At the moment, I have a great deal of laundry to take care of, so I am blogging instead. Makes sense, right?

This spring Daylin, Bethany and Hyrum played in a church soccer league. There are no scores kept and the coaches are church members with big hearts. The practices are all at the same time and place, as well as the games - all for a very reasonable price. Thus, all three enrolled and Anya plays in the little playground with her "friends." My job is to help her on and off swings and see saws. As the doctor said this morning at her 3 yr check up: "She's the size of a two year old but speaks like a five year old." Our little Anya stops to chat with any and all adults as well as their kids at the playground, and the library, and the grocery store, etc.

Here are some fun pictures of the kids in their last games.

Hyrum graduated!

We are so proud of Hyrum. He graduated two weeks ago from Kindergarten and is now on to first grade! He has done really well this year and is ready to go to school every day like his big sisters next year. Anya will miss him, but she really likes having the remote control all to herself.

Part of the graduation program was about ten songs. This one was my favorite. As always, the password is zippy.

Ballerina Bethany - doing tap.

Bethany has really come into her own this year with dance. She easily memorized her dances and looks beautiful on stage. I love her beautiful smile and I had a lot of fun with her hair. Enjoy!

Dancing Daylin

Daylin has been dancing for four years now and has really come a long way. She has beautiful long arms and legs and does a great job remembering her dances. I love seeing the excitement in her eyes as she gets ready to perform. She is becoming such a beautiful young woman! Can you believe I am now the mom of a fourth grader?

The Status Quo

Some days when I look at the mounds of laundry, the mess all over the house, and the stacks of papers that need dealing with - I find I would rather go start a new project than deal with the daily chores.

Sometimes I find that I would rather create something which will last and be beautiful than clean my kitchen.

Sometimes I find a longing in my heart that wants a voice - it is the longing to be something great.
I once thought I would do something great. I believe that in the long run, raising my children and helping my husband attain his dreams will be my greatness.

But then there are days....

"Is is actually easier to motivate someone to do something difficult than something easy. That's because the status quo is uninspiring. Our spirits crave to progress, and if we aren't moving forward, we are not happy." - Sheri Dew

Thus - please don't mind the bolts of fabric I bought months ago and haven't touched yet, the can of paint I just bought last week and all of the other unfinished projects. I am just filling my craving to progress and create.
