For those of you unfamiliar with geocaching, this is the wikipeida definition: Geocaching is an outdoor activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container (usually a tupperware or ammo box) containing a logbook. Larger containers can also contain items for trading, usually toys or trinkets of little value.
Second: DO bring trinkets to trade. The kids love walking away with a new, traded "treasure"
Third: And this may be the most important - Do make sure you know what poison ivy and stinging nettles look like!

If you DON'T heed the third bit of advice:
First: DON'T wear shorts and sandals when you go geocaching. The treasures are often hid off the beaten trails and require some "tromping" in the woods.
Second: If you DO wear shorts, make sure your husband has on longs sock, as he will need to pull them up and carry multiple children through stinging nettles.
Third: If you DO wear shorts and sandals, even after your interaction with stinging nettles, and heedlessly walk through large batches of "leaves of three, let them be" looking leaves, be prepared to buy a $40, 1 oz tube of Zanfel. It really works!
